Sorry , jio enthusiast, whatsoever the media says or how so ever ur ' merry making' neighbour prescribe
but I will not prescribe the latest jio feature phone.
Of course I will give my reasoning for it . But first of all let me clarify I my no way against jio or its phones .I had tested other jio phones and they r absolutely fine. The aim of this post is to warn u against the potential consequences. Of buying the jio feature phone.

First of all look @ the specs of jio feature phone aka jio phone ( in rest of guide I will call it as such)
Alphanumeric keypad
4-way navigation
2.4 QVGA display
512 MB RAM
4 GB internal storage
2MP rear camera
2000mAh battery
This is in addition to the features of any other regular phone such as FM radio torch light, headphone jack, SD card slot and inbuilt ringtones.
1-It's not free - dude wtf...
Ya you got it right . acc. To official announcement it is free but u have to pay 1500rs which is of course refundable but wait
Refundable only if u return the phone
After 3yrs.
1st type of man 'the hosiyaars'- ya so ur the smartass who wants this phone and will return after 3yrs and get ur pennies back ,OK wait don't run too fast have u ever listened about a feature phone which. Will remain in OK condition(without a single scratch ) after 3yrs ?
Ya they will not take a damaged phone .
2nd type -so ur a normal man and u want a phone . let's say it work nicely every thing remain up to standard which u brought it for 3yrs.
Then why will u return it?
So , u see this whole free thing is a hoax .
(OK if I mentioned wrong condition for refund pls correct me in comments)
2-dude its a 4g phone phone -
OK OK don't overreact u will be offered a good speed .
But what's the use of it, ya u can watch onlinne movies , in 2.4 inch size seriously ?
,but u could watch movies on big screen by connecting it to TV.
But this phone is aimed at the people
Of middle class or lower income class ,will they be able to buy such branded TV.
And other than watching movies what else it provides.
That gets to our 3rd point.
3-coming to usability and user experience-
Let's look down to our past
Once we all had this
Then we switched to this
Why ,
Can u give reason
*bigger screen-?
*Better camera?
*Good looks?
*Better internet features (browsing ,charting etc.)?
*Good more apps (whattsapp,fb,candy crush etc.)?
Many of u will agree with one or all of the reason but I will say no
*Some feature phones were touchscreen so they had large screens.
* we could any time to market and get aproffesional camera which will be 100 times better than ,what any phone can offer.
*seriously -fb was still there,
many Samsung feature phone does had features of email,FBI,charting, browsing.
*there was a phone I don,t remember its name ,was offering 600games.
So these were no real reasons
The reason was different
Now we get to play snake (of Nokia phones)with. Old dude contra .
We could also play super Mario of PC's with ,soulcalibur of PS.
Also we could change the wallpaper, not like old phones from a image ,but to unlimited live wallpapers,
that too are not bounded by our provider .
The point I am trying to making is that is gives us a lot of freedom of customization
That freedom is unprecedented from booking movies , to chatting, from online money transfer. to playing online games, from instragram to times of India, from all childish thing to all mature one
.
Will u get that in a feature phone well no ,some will say we could say jio does offers jio money , for money matter ,jiotv for online movies, and blah blah ....
Let's take the case of money transfer
Today most popular money transfer option is PayPal (internationally),paytm(for Indians)
Tommorow it will change u will try to get that app too which u are flaunting but can u do that
No ur doomed with jio money till eternity.
3-busting other hoax -
It offers voice navigation -every latest android phone does so .
It had pre embedded jio apps - pls refer to point 3, case of jio money app
It offers alphanumeric keypad -seriusly is that a point ,
Led flash-dude ,pls shut ur fuc.... Mouth, its serious huh...
Jio tarrif plans - now this could be the good reason but then air tel is planing to offer much cheaper plans.
5- the verdict -
technology companies need to start thinking about usability and user experience instead of just trying to tick the cheapest option box. The latter might actually end up impacting their industry negatively inthe long run. If they do want to offer affordability, it should be without cutting corners too much.
So if ur buying phone for ur grandpa then its fine ,or buying just for a backup OK, but for everyday use.
A Big NAAh..
